The Patterson Police Department starting as a two man department operating out of a city barn has grown into a multimillion state of the art complex. The Patterson Police Department employs approximately thirty employees. We currently house DOC and city inmates. Giving recognition to the past chief's, Chief Carl Peterson, Chief Jessie Paul, Chief John Robichaux, Chief James (Peanut) Sennett, and Chief Patrick LaSalle paved the way in Law Enforcement making it possible for the current Chief Garrett Grogan to embark on the changing world of Law Enforcement.
The Mission of the Patterson Police Department is to serve all the citizens of Patterson with loyalty, Integrity, and professionalism. The Patterson Police Department is dedicated to keeping the City of Patterson a safe and nurturing place to live and raise a family. The goal of the Department is to provide equal treatment to all citizens, protection of life and property, as well as maintain order in a professional but effective manner through positive interaction with the citizens of Patterson.
